13th – The Educator, Great Central Railway, Loughborough, Leicestershire
Join us on Remembrance Sunday as we both remember those who have served our country as well as raising funds in support of our work especially our Rangers Riding Ranch project.
The day will begin with a special breakfast train which will be hauled by a steam engine from Loughborough Central to Quorn and Woodhouse then by a heritage diesel on the return to Loughborough Central. Tea/Coffee and Danish Pastries will be served on board. This will be a very special trip as we are hoping the train will run side by side with another steam hauled train a rare site in the UK.
There will then be an opportunity to join with the Great Central Railway for their Service of Remembrance held on the platform including the two minutes silence at 11am. Following this there will be an opportunity to get refreshments and explore Loughborough Central Station.
At 12.30 passengers will board “The Educator” where a three-course lunch will be served while you travel through the Leicestershire countryside behind a restored steam locomotive and a heritage diesel locomotive.
The menu for the lunch will be
Soup of the Day with Bread Roll (v)
Main Course (served with a glass of wine or orange juice)
Roast Ribeye of Beef with Caramelised Shallots in a Red Wine Gravy, served with all the trimmings
Chef’s selection of Vegetables
Served with a glass or red or white wine or orange juice
Caramelised Apple and Blackberry Crumble with a Crème Anglaise
Tea and Coffee with Chocolate Mints
Vegetarian and vegan options will be available but must be requested at least two weeks in advance.
There will be entertainment from the amazing classical-crossover group Eden as well as a silent auction.
